ISCE program participants

Three tiers. Fifteen months.

Each tier builds on the last. Training is funded with no cost to participants. Employment begins after completing Tier 1.

Tier 01

Learn

Entry level · Funded training

Participants start with the foundations of cybersecurity compliance. Organising records, documentation, and keeping files tidy so that security experts can do their work. Internal shadowing only at this stage. No experience needed. Training is funded. No cost to participants.

Tier 02

Practice

Employed · Client work begins

Participants move into assessments, system reviews, and compliance readiness support. Work becomes client deployable. Skills are tested against CP-CSC, CMMC, and NIST 800-171 compliance requirements.

Tier 03

Lead

Employed · Fully deployable

Participants lead program coordination, audits, and compliance operations. Supporting the full cyber compliance lifecycle end to end. Fully deployable into Canada's defence and infrastructure supply chain.

Participants are employed by Ihtiwin, an Alberta First Nations enterprise, after completing Tier 1. Work availability within Canada's defence and infrastructure supply chain is made possible through relationships with prime defence contractors.

The full program runs 15 months across three tiers. Each tier builds on the previous one. Tier 01 focuses on foundations, Tier 02 on practice and client work, and Tier 03 on leading compliance operations. The progression is designed to be achievable and structured around employment.

ISCE does not accept individual applications. The program runs in cohorts. Indigenous communities can sponsor a cohort for their members, and prime defence contractors can sponsor a cohort to train workers for their supply chain needs. To get started, reach out through your community leadership or contact us directly to discuss what a cohort looks like for your situation.
